Lead Site Mechanic - Aircraft Maintenance

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Lead Site Mechanic for a government contract (contingent on contract award) in which the candidate leads the operation and maintenance of aircraft, aircraft subsystems and support equipment. The scope covers a full range of aircraft maintenance activities, including launch and recovery, contractor-owned spares, repairs at FAA-certified stations, paint and engine overhaul.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the effort for operating and maintaining aircraft, aircraft subsystems and support equipment
• Oversee aircraft maintenance, personnel, materials and inspections, and launch and recovery of aircraft
• Manage supply of contractor-owned spares and support equipment through a Contractor Owned and Maintained Parts (COMP) program
• Supervise repair and overhaul of repairable spares at FAA-certified repair stations
• Handle maintenance and repair of support equipment, aircraft paint and engine repair and overhaul
• Act as the on-site liaison with the Government

Required profile

• 5 or more years of aircraft maintenance experience
• 3 or more years maintaining King Air/1900 airliner series aircraft, including complex modifications
• At least one year as a site lead under a similar effort
• Current FAA A&P license
• Ability to direct a workforce in aircraft maintenance, repair and modification
• US citizenship, required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
• High school diploma or GED minimum
