Laboratory Technician – Consumer Products

About the role

3M is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the testing and quality assurance of its consumer products. The role is based at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN and offers the chance to work with a global team of innovative professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and experiments on consumer products following established protocols.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data accurately and efficiently.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure reliable results.
• Prepare samples for testing while adhering to strict safety guidelines.
• Document and report test results using computer software.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve testing issues.
• Train colleagues on sample preparation, test methods, and lab protocols.

Required profile

• Two‑year associate degree or higher in a relevant scientific field (e.g., chemistry, biology) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience in a private, public, government, or military setting.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
