About the role
This unpaid internship with the Visitors Services Section of the UN Outreach Division offers a hands‑on opportunity to support public information, communications and outreach activities in New York. The role is primarily onsite and can be full‑time (35 hours/week) or part‑time, lasting 4‑6 months with a preferred start date of 24 August 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in outreach activities, including guided tours, briefings, events and multimedia projects.
- Conduct research on UN thematic issues and draft correspondence, short articles, fact‑sheets and social‑media content.
- Respond to visitors’ queries in person and in writing.
- Support the design, implementation and analysis of visitor‑experience surveys.
- Capture photographs and videos for communication purposes.
- Perform other duties as required by the supervising staff member.
Required profile
- Enrolled in or having completed the final academic year of a bachelor’s degree program, or enrolled in/completed a graduate program.
- Strong interest in public information, communications and international affairs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
