Groundskeeper/Porter – Hawthorne Village

About the role

The Groundskeeper/Porter ensures the community’s physical appearance and amenities are well maintained, supporting the service team and enhancing curb appeal for residents and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect common areas throughout the day to remove litter, debris, pet droppings and keep amenities tidy.
• Remove trash from vacant apartments, transport it to dumpsters or storage, and maintain storage areas.
• Complete minor service requests, assist make‑ready specialists, and change locks per policy.
• Distribute resident notices, report hazards, and provide courteous customer service.
• Attend safety meetings, complete OSHA training, and report incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on the property.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance), and work in all weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work a rotating on‑call schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Basic lock‑changing procedures.
• Knowledge of safety and risk‑management policies.
