Groundskeeper & Porter – Community Maintenance

About the role

The Groundskeeper/Porter will maintain the physical appearance and safety of the community, ensuring that grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s high standards. This onsite position supports the service team and contributes to a welcoming environment for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the community throughout the day to remove litter, debris, pet droppings, and keep all common areas tidy.
• Remove trash from vacant apartments before the make‑ready process and maintain storage areas.
• Complete minor service requests assigned by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager and assist with apartment turn‑overs.
• Change locks according to property policy and ensure pool gates function safely and meet code requirements.
• Distribute resident notices and communications as needed.
• Report any hazards or dangerous situations to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer resident questions, and address maintenance complaints sensitively.
• Follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attend safety meetings, complete OSHA training, and report accidents accurately.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and crawling in confined spaces.
• Capability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on the property.
