General Anesthesiologist – Lafayette, LA

About the role

Ochsner Lafayette General is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Anesthesiologist to provide anesthesia services across a broad spectrum of cases. The position offers a balanced lifestyle, diverse clinical experiences, and opportunities for professional growth within a multi‑specialty health system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, neurosurgery, urology, women’s services, and outpatient pediatrics.
• Work across multiple facilities such as the main hospital, community hospital, orthopedic hospital, GI center, surgical hospital, and teaching hospital.
• Participate in medical direction and care‑team models, collaborating with in‑house CRNAs.
• Support the Level II Trauma Center emergency department and handle high‑acuity cases.
• Utilize the EPIC EMR platform for patient management and documentation.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Experience delivering anesthesia in a variety of surgical specialties.
• Willingness to work a nocturnist schedule with no weeknight call and shared weekend call.
