Field Material Controller

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Field Material Controller to support the construction of an advanced manufacturing facility in Saint Francisville, LA. The role focuses on managing material flow, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and supporting on‑site teams to keep the project on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Review Shipment Release Requests and approve authorizations according to purchase order terms and the Material Control Execution Plan.
• Administer Material Receiving Reports (MRRs), Material Issue Requests (MIRs) and Over/Under/Damaged (OS&D) reports.
• Maintain a register of materials requiring preservation and keep all material control documentation up to date.
• Identify material‑control risks, propose remedies, and coordinate OS&D resolution.
• Advise stakeholders on shipment release procedures and support their understanding of the authorization process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, supply chain, operations management, or equivalent experience.
• Prior site experience on large‑scale construction projects, preferably in advanced manufacturing.
• Willingness to obtain an OSHA 10‑hour Construction Certificate (OSHA 30 preferred).
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel.
• Experience with Materials Management or Enterprise Purchasing systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or Smart Materials.
