Executive Director – CIB Treasury Banking Book

About the role

Santander is seeking an Executive Director to lead its Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Treasury Banking Book. This senior position drives strategy, risk management, and balance‑sheet performance across a range of treasury functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and subject‑matter expertise in Asset‑Liability Management, interest‑rate, liquidity and FX risk.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve capital efficiency, funding optimization and balance‑sheet performance within risk limits.
• Design and maintain behavioral models for forecasting, risk measurement and balance‑sheet management.
• Oversee treasury platforms, resolve operational and technology issues in partnership with Operations and IT.
• Identify and implement AI‑enabled solutions to enhance treasury processes and decision‑making.
• Maintain treasury policies, procedures, risk limits, stress‑testing frameworks and internal controls.
• Advise senior management, regulators and investors on risk exposures and strategic opportunities.
• Coach and develop junior team members to build technical expertise and succession readiness.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in treasury, risk management or related finance functions at a senior level.
• Proven track record of leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic treasury solutions.
