About the role

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is seeking a board‑eligible or board‑certified Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join its faculty at UT Health East Texas. The position is full‑time (1.0 FTE) with 12 twelve‑hour shifts per month, providing single‑provider coverage in a 14‑bed emergency department that includes medical and behavioral health beds.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality emergency or family medicine care to approximately 11,000 annual ED visits.
• Provide single‑provider coverage for 12‑hour shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) across 14 emergency department beds.
• Document patient encounters using the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including behavioral health, to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Participate in teaching activities and contribute to the academic mission of the medical school.

Required profile

• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Medical license to practice in Texas.
• Willingness to work a full‑time schedule with 12 twelve‑hour shifts per month.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
