Electronic Technician D (Target Systems)

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Electronic Technician D for a position on Kauai, HI. Working under close supervision, the technician performs electrical and jet engine run tests, troubleshoots, repairs and calibrates target systems and associated equipment, and carries out other related tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform periodic inspections and maintenance according to published procedures, and document maintenance results electronically through the Navy's record-keeping system.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems and equipment by reading and interpreting electronic and mechanical schematics with simple and complex test equipment.
• Assist in preparing and developing new local procedures, procedural changes and modification proposals.
• Be certified to handle, install and check out aerial target-related ordnance.
• Configure and install augmentation equipment, check out, calibrate, modify and accept target drones and their ground support equipment.
• Support all phases of target operation, including assembly, operational checks, launch and decontamination.
• Lift, push and pull loads of 25-50 lbs, and work in positions involving walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, stooping and climbing, in customer contact, extended workdays, laboratory field assignments and inclement weather.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field or 2-year technical electronic school, or equivalent.
• 0-1 year of experience in a related field.
• Ordnance certification, or ability to obtain it.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government clearance; US citizenship is required.

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of electronics theory and ability to read and interpret complex schematics to the component level.
• PC skills: MS Word and Outlook.
