Electrical Engineer

About the role

Amentum is recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering team supporting the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) at NASA Langley Research Center. The position reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Project Manager and covers power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and communication systems, with general experience in controls and instrumentation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specific, limited engineering tasks under the direction of an experienced engineer, preparing computations, specifications and reports of limited scope.
• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and communication systems, and conduct analysis and evaluation of unique and complex tasks.
• Make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods, and resolve technical questions using advanced techniques.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate the work of others on large or complex engineering projects.
• Prepare engineering studies, reports, design review presentations, construction cost estimates and construction management services.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, and complete a Safe Plan of Action for each task.

Required profile

• US citizenship and a valid Real ID-compliant identification.
• Electrical Engineer degree with 3 to 5 years of related experience, or an MS degree with 2 to 3 years, or a PhD.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Ability to work in an industrial environment, including exposure to noise, hazardous materials and equipment, and to lift up to 35 lbs.

Required skills

• Preferred: PE license, Allen Bradley PLC and LabVIEW, AutoCAD, Revit, MS 365 including MS Project.
• Preferred: ETAP for substation relaying and protection device coordination.
