DevOps Engineer

About the role

LightFeather is looking for a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for a high‑security government environment. You will work closely with software engineers, security teams, and government stakeholders to drive automation and cloud optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure GCP infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform, Deployment Manager or similar tools.
• Support CI/CD pipeline automation, integration, and management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support development and deployment workflows.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure services meet SLAs.
• Implement best practices and ensure compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and other federal security standards.
• Provide documentation and knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Required profile

• Willingness to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
• 4+ years of cloud engineering experience, with at least 2 years on GCP.
• Hands‑on experience with core GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, BigQuery).
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
• Strong understanding of Linux, networking, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
