Critical Utilities Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Critical Utilities Maintenance Technician for its ASPEX facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The role is part of the Engineering function and serves as the subject‑matter expert for a wide range of utility equipment, ensuring reliable operation of critical systems that support eye‑care product manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions to perform maintenance tasks.
• Operate, test, and calibrate HVAC, water generation/purification, steam, condensate, compressed air, chilled/glycol water, and chemical mixing systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and respond to unplanned corrective maintenance across utility equipment.
• Document all work in computerized systems and adhere to GxP SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Make system adjustments, modifications, and component replacements as directed.
• Support internal customers via radio communications for real‑time assistance.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with utility or industrial maintenance.
• Availability to work 1st shift (Sunday – Wednesday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm).
• Travel requirement up to 10%; no relocation assistance or sponsorship offered.
