Completions Engineer – Design & Optimization of Oil & Gas Wells

About the role
The Completions Engineer will lead the design, planning, execution, and optimization of completion and work‑over operations for unconventional oil and gas wells. Working closely with drilling, production, reservoir, geoscience, operations, finance, and service providers, the role ensures safe, cost‑effective, and high‑performing wells.
Key responsibilities
- Design, support, and optimize completion programs for new and existing wells.
- Develop detailed procedures, engineering designs, and execution plans for completion and work‑over activities.
- Provide on‑site engineering support during completions and act as a technical resource for field personnel.
- Monitor execution to ensure compliance with design objectives, safety standards, and performance targets.
- Support stimulation, wireline, coiled tubing, work‑over, and well‑intervention operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on field development planning and production optimization.
- Analyze operational and production data to identify performance improvements and cost reductions.
- Benchmark completion performance, implement best practices, and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Assist in vendor selection, tender processes, cost estimating, AFE forecasting, and budget monitoring.
- Review daily operational reports, validate data, track performance metrics, and maintain engineering databases.
- Prepare technical presentations and performance summaries for management and stakeholders.
Required profile
- Strong engineering fundamentals with solid field‑operations knowledge.
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Technical leadership experience in completion design, execution planning, and performance analysis.
