Classroom and Video Services Technician (Technology Support Specialist I)

About the role

The Classroom and Video Services (CVS) team at Fresno State is seeking a dedicated Technician to provide on‑site technical support for classroom and video equipment. Working under the guidance of senior IT staff, you will help ensure faculty and staff have reliable AV resources for teaching and presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Extron control systems, LCD projectors, DVD players, audio/video CODECs, cameras, microphones, mixers, switchers and related equipment.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support to faculty, staff, and students, including troubleshooting and repairs.
• Analyze equipment problems, use diagnostic software and test equipment to verify system operation.
• Support special projects and occasional weekend work as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of service activities and equipment inventories.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of Extron control systems, LCD projection, DVD players, audio/video CODECs, cameras, microphones, audio/video mixers/switchers, computers, laptops, monitors, sound systems and multi‑point control units (MCUs).
• Familiarity with materials, methods, and techniques used in equipment service assignments.
• Ability to use required tools, including computer systems, to accomplish tasks.
• Manual dexterity to physically install and configure equipment and connections.
• Consistent attendance record and positive performance evaluations.
