CIB Associate – Investment Grade Sales

About the role

The CIB Associate will support the distribution and execution of investment‑grade credit products for Santander’s U.S. Corporate Investment Banking franchise. Working with institutional clients such as asset managers, insurers and financial institutions, the associate will help drive market execution and business development across key U.S. offices.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Institutional Credit Sales team in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Boston with day‑to‑day client activity.
• Provide timely market colour, execution support and insight on credit trends, macro‑economic factors and new‑issue opportunities.
• Coordinate with Syndicate on primary market transactions and with Debt Capital Markets on liability‑management exercises.
• Leverage technology to improve the dissemination of desk analytics and enhance client reach.
• Collaborate with Research to generate actionable trade ideas and relative‑value opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience in financial services or capital markets.
• Highly motivated, proactive and results‑driven with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication, presentation and public‑speaking abilities.
• Series 7 certification.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven tools and applications.
