Women's Dress Designer – Fashion District, NYC

About the role

We are looking for a talented Women’s Dress Designer to join the Siena Dresses team at G‑III Apparel Group in Midtown Manhattan. The role supports the Design Director in creating a competitive, trend‑forward dress collection that balances creativity with commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Design Director from research and sketching through approved prototypes.
• Conduct seasonal trend, fabric and trim research and translate inspiration into design concepts.
• Create sketches and technical packages with strong garment construction and fit knowledge.
• Support first‑sample development and ensure timely delivery to meet market deadlines.
• Collaborate with design, production and sales teams to maintain design integrity and commercial viability.
• Assist in sourcing fabrics and trims and communicate development status with overseas offices.
• Attend fittings, review fit and function, and implement revisions as needed.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of professional apparel design experience focused on women’s dresses.
• Strong eye for detail, trend awareness and ability to balance creativity with commercial insight.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive self‑starter who works well with cross‑functional and overseas partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
