Wet Utilities Backfill Operator (Spanish) – Round Rock, TX

About the role

DNT Construction is seeking experienced excavator operators to join our Wet Utilities team in the Austin‑Round Rock area. The role focuses on safely backfilling and compacting utility trenches after pipe installation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a Class 200 excavator to backfill utility trenches.
• Compact each fill layer using a wheel compactor attachment.
• Coordinate with the water‑truck operator to apply the correct moisture content for optimal compaction.
• Follow level specifications and maintain trench integrity throughout the backfill process.
• Communicate effectively with ground crews and foremen to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience operating a Class 200 excavator on utility or heavy civil projects.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test and background check.
• Physically demanding work performed outdoors.
