Visual and Material Representation Designer

About the role

Frida Escobedo Studio is looking for a Visual and Material Representation Designer to join its New York office. The role supports multiple project teams by creating high‑quality visualizations, diagrams, presentation graphics, and both physical and digital models that communicate complex architectural ideas.

Key responsibilities

• Produce visualizations, diagrams, graphics, and models for internal reviews, client presentations, and competitions.
• Translate conceptual design ideas into clear drawings, renderings, and physical prototypes.
• Develop presentation materials for design reviews, client meetings, and publications.
• Build and maintain detailed physical and digital models throughout the design process.
• Create accurate architectural drawings and graphics with careful coordination.
• Conduct research on design, materials, technical precedents, and incorporate findings into project development.
• Participate in design discussions, critiques, and incorporate feedback constructively.
• Identify opportunities to improve visual communication and propose innovative solutions.
• Manage multiple assignments across concurrent projects while meeting deadlines.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture.
• Outstanding portfolio demonstrating excellence in visualization, graphic communication, diagramming, and model making.
• Meticulous attention to detail and high standards of graphic quality.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multiple project teams.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Curiosity, initiative, and enthusiasm for learning new tools and workflows.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Enscape)
• Grasshopper (optional but preferred)

What we offer

• Competitive salary range $60,000 – $72,000 annually.
