Visiting Instructor – Physics (non‑tenure track)

About the role

Tarleton State University seeks a Visiting Instructor in Physics for its Department of Chemistry, Geosciences & Physics. This nine‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment supports undergraduate teaching on campus and through approved online modalities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate physics courses, including lectures, labs, and discussion sections.
• Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum committees, and community outreach.
• Collaborate with faculty across campuses to support instructional needs.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Physics or a closely related field, or ABD status with strong evidence of completion.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate physics effectively.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without university‑sponsored H‑1B fee.
