Vice President Financial Controller (FinTech/AI)

About the role

The Vice President Financial Controller will partner directly with senior leadership and report to the CEO, providing a hands‑on blend of finance (30%) and accounting (70%). This hybrid role oversees month‑end close, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting/forecasting, and leads an accounting team of 6‑8 professionals. The position offers a clear path toward a future CFO role and follows a 4‑day onsite, 1‑day remote schedule (Fridays).

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end close and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee accounting operations, cash management, and budgeting/forecasting processes.
• Lead and develop an accounting team of 6‑8 members.
• Collaborate with company leaders to drive financial strategy.
• Report financial performance and insights directly to the CEO.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Hands‑on experience in a similar‑size organization (100‑200 employees, $50‑150 M revenue).
• MBA preferred; CPA preferred but not required.
• Public audit background preferred but not required.
• Experience in technology, FinTech, media, or software sectors is a plus.
