Transport & Logistics Specialist

About the role

In this position you will own transport and logistics for large‑scale power‑grid projects within Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration business. You will manage the full lifecycle from tender budgeting to execution of complex global shipments, with a strong focus on heavy‑lift equipment weighing hundreds of tons.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement transport and logistics strategies, including end‑to‑end budgeting for tenders and execution phases.
• Plan and coordinate global heavy‑lift shipments, ensuring safe handling, lifting and securing of large equipment.
• Conduct feasibility studies, source carriers, negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships.
• Evaluate transport routes, road infrastructure, port capacities and storage solutions, producing technical lifting plans.
• Collaborate with project teams, suppliers and customers to resolve logistics challenges and keep project timelines.
• Investigate transport quality issues and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce risk.
• Ensure compliance with local and global regulations, shipping requirements and project‑specific logistics constraints.

Required profile

• Work authorization to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Extensive experience in heavy‑lift transport and shipping, handling cargos over 200 tons.
• Background in transformer sourcing or similar heavy‑item transportation and site operations.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale, complex projects from tender through final delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment.
