Trailer Mechanic – Full-Time

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer Mechanic for its Lakeland, FL Service Center. This full‑time position works Monday‑Friday, 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., offering a competitive hourly rate and a vacation week after 90 days.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare required FMCSA documentation.
• Interpret technical manuals and test equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulations.

Required profile

• Experience with safety inspections, trailer preventive maintenance, and repairing or replacing defective parts.
• Ability to lift 50 lb, own personal tools, and work in varying climate conditions.
• Dependable and able to follow federal, state, and local regulations.
