Temporary Lecturer – Mechanical Engineering

About the role

The Mechanical Engineering Department at California State University, Fresno seeks qualified candidates to join its temporary faculty pool as lecturers. Successful applicants will teach undergraduate courses such as Machine Design, Thermal/Fluids, Materials/Product Development, and Dynamics.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver undergraduate lectures in assigned Mechanical Engineering subjects.
• Conduct and proctor quizzes, midterm and final examinations, and evaluate homework, projects, and assignments.
• Maintain regular office hours to support student learning.
• Adhere to university and system‑wide policies, including Academic Policy Manual requirements.
• Be available to begin teaching on short notice as assignments arise from the temporary faculty pool.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Eligibility to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship provided).
• Flexibility to teach in various delivery modes (in‑person, hybrid, synchronous or asynchronous).

• Monthly salary ranging from $5,507 to $6,677, commensurate with qualifications and workload (15 WTUs full‑time).
