Tax Manager – Real Estate Focus

About the role

We are a respected mid‑sized public accounting firm seeking an experienced Tax Manager with a strong focus on real‑estate taxation. The role will be based in Woodbury, NY, and involves managing complex tax engagements for residential, commercial, industrial, land, and special‑purpose properties.

Key responsibilities

• Lead tax engagements from planning through delivery, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
• Prepare, review, and manage staff deliverables, including tax returns, extensions, planning calculations, and write‑ups for various entity types.
• Develop complex tax planning projections for individuals and entities.
• Prepare and review U.S., multi‑state, and international income tax returns for C corporations, S corporations, and partnerships.
• Conduct in‑depth tax research and draft memoranda summarizing findings.
• Communicate with the IRS and state agencies on audits, notices, and other matters.
• Delegate projects, provide technical guidance, and mentor team members.
• Support business development by meeting clients, preparing proposals, and assessing needs.

Required profile

• CPA or EA certification.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• 7+ years of public accounting experience.
• Strong background in individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
• Real‑estate tax experience strongly preferred.
