Tax Consultant (North Carolina)

About the role

Our client, a leading finance and accounting firm, is seeking an experienced Tax Consultant to join their North Carolina team. This position offers the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of individuals and entities, delivering comprehensive tax consulting and compliance services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, partnership, S‑corp, C‑corp, fiduciary, and non‑profit income tax returns and extensions.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships as the primary point of contact.
• Conduct tax planning to optimize clients' financial positions.
• Prepare and review personal property tax returns, payroll tax returns, estimated tax payments, and depreciation schedules.
• Research and resolve federal and state income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax issues.
• Respond to and resolve client tax notices from the IRS and state agencies.

Required profile

• Proven experience preparing and reviewing a wide range of tax returns.
• Strong client relationship management abilities.
• Expertise in tax planning and strategy development.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, especially for tax‑related issues.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
