Strategic Equity Associate

About the role

Blue Owl is seeking a Strategic Equity Associate to join its private equity effort (Blue Owl Strategic Equity – BOSE). The role works closely with senior leadership to source, evaluate, and manage minority equity investments across continuation vehicles and direct equity stakes.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate potential new investments, including business diligence, financial modelling, valuation, legal negotiation, and execution.
• Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to the investment committee.
• Monitor portfolio companies and drive value‑creation initiatives.
• Participate in periodic fund marketing and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in investment banking or private equity.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for senior and external audiences.
• Relationship‑building capability with business leaders and external partners.
• Entrepreneurial mindset to help scale a large fund business and culture.
