Staff Software Engineer – Autonomous Pilot Integration (Weapons)

About the role

The Autonomous Pilot Integration team builds autonomy solutions for small, air‑ or ground‑launched platforms that operate in multi‑agent fleets and often in disconnected or air‑gapped environments. As a Staff Software Engineer you will lead the technical delivery of complex autonomy capabilities, from software‑in‑the‑loop to live flight tests, for U.S. and international defense customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of major autonomy capabilities, coordinating cross‑functional teams and mentoring engineers.
• Develop and integrate autonomy software onto launched effects platforms, including autopilot integration, payload systems, executive autonomy, and multi‑agent coordination.
• Serve as primary technical interface with Autonomy Capabilities, Perception, feature crews, autopilot vendors, C2 providers, and customer partners.
• Drive mission readiness for capability releases and fleet‑scale deployments by managing validation, release planning, and hardware/software compatibility.
• Provide technical leadership during flight tests, customer demonstrations, and operational deployments, troubleshooting complex issues under time‑critical constraints.

Required profile

• BS/MS in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Expert C++ and Linux development experience.
• Experience leading complex autonomy or embedded software integration efforts.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
