Spanish Instructor – Upward Bound Program

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is seeking a qualified Spanish instructor to join its Upward Bound program. This temporary, fixed‑term position supports undergraduate students by delivering high‑quality foreign‑language instruction and fostering academic success.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess Spanish language lessons for Upward Bound participants.
• Develop curriculum materials aligned with program goals and university standards.
• Provide individualized tutoring and academic support to enhance student proficiency.
• Collaborate with faculty and program staff to coordinate outreach activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Experience teaching or tutoring Spanish at the secondary or post‑secondary level.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse student populations.
• Commitment to the mission of Upward Bound and student development.
