Service Technician – Yardly Elm

About the role

The Service Technician at Greystar’s Yardly Elm property ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet the company’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This onsite role involves responding to resident requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident service requests and conduct preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Adherence to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, including participation in routine safety meetings.
• Attention to detail in documentation and inventory management.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with vendors and supervisors.

Required skills

• Diagnostic troubleshooting of building systems.
• Pressure washing and basic painting.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and make‑ready processes.
