Senior / Staff Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Waabi is a leader in Physical AI, developing autonomous trucks and robotaxis. The Senior/Staff Supplier Quality Engineer will own supplier qualification, quality planning, and integration of mechanical, sensor, compute and actuation systems for safety‑critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical audits of new and existing suppliers to assess manufacturing maturity and QMS compliance with IATF 16949 or ISO 9001.
• Manage the full supplier life‑cycle from sourcing through Start of Production (SOP) and service‑life support.
• Lead APQP and PPAP processes, delivering PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans and ensuring error‑proofing (Poka‑Yoke) solutions.
• Define and validate hardware End‑of‑Line testers, calibration requirements and support Process Verification testing.
• Analyze field performance data with Product Quality, drive corrective actions and lead RCCA using 8D methodology.
• Maintain and improve the quality management system for suppliers, CMs and Tier‑1 partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven experience driving all five phases of APQP and delivering complete PPAP packages for safety‑critical components.
• Strong problem‑solving background with mastery of 8D, 5‑Why and Fishbone analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with SolidWorks (or similar CAD), GD&T, and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Experience with a wide range of manufacturing processes including PCB/PCBA, wire harness, sheet metal, injection molding, stamping, die‑casting and CNC machining.
