Senior Staff Software Engineer, Platform

About the role

Sentry is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the evolution of its Platform organization. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will shape the technical foundation that powers Sentry’s products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Architect scalable technical solutions that align with business needs and product strategy.
• Partner with product and engineering leaders to define roadmaps and drive cross‑cutting initiatives.
• Mentor platform engineers, promote best practices, and ensure high standards for system design, scalability and operational quality.
• Review major architectural proposals to maintain consistency, maintainability and long‑term health.

Required profile

• 12+ years building large‑scale distributed systems and 5+ years in cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
• 3+ years in a technical architecture or leadership role with a proven record of leading high‑impact projects.
• Strong communication skills and experience mentoring senior engineers.
