Senior Process Engineer

About the role

Seasats designs and deploys unmanned surface vessels that operate at sea for months at a time. As production scales, the Senior Process Engineer will design, own, and document manufacturing processes that turn validated designs into repeatable, high-quality builds, ensuring smooth line operation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop manufacturing processes, operation sequences, and process routings, maintaining them in the MES.
• Translate engineering drawings, GD&T, and BOMs into clear work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Identify and implement process controls to verify functional requirements and screen for potential failure modes.
• Collect and analyze manufacturing data (cycle time, yield, defect rates) to pinpoint bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions on non-conformances.
• Own process transition from prototype through NPI to full-rate production, partnering with cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant coursework in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably aerospace, defense, or maritime.
• Comfortable working in a startup environment and adapting quickly to high-growth culture.
• Ability to share knowledge and best practices without formal people-management responsibilities.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with MES, ERP, or PLM systems for process routing and documentation.
• Data analysis using Excel, Power BI, Minitab, or similar tools.
