Senior Principal Platform Architect – Teamcenter

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Principal Platform Architect to lead the design, configuration, and support of product lifecycle management solutions using Siemens Polarion and Teamcenter. This role will enable systems‑based design, development, validation, and technology transfer for new medical devices that improve vision for millions of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain architectural blueprints, functional and technical specifications for Teamcenter solutions.
• Oversee installation, configuration, and customization of Teamcenter client (Active Workspace) and server components, including BMIDE, workflows, and data models.
• Design and implement integrations between Teamcenter and enterprise applications such as CAD, PLM, and ALM tools.
• Provide technical direction, mentor junior architects, and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
• Communicate technical strategies to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Partner with vendors and internal IT teams to manage upgrades and deployments of Siemens Teamcenter modules.
• Plan and execute data migration activities using ETL processes.
• Analyze complex business challenges and develop innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience leading PLM/ALM architecture initiatives.
• Proven ability to provide technical direction and mentor teams.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse business functions.
• Experience working in a regulated medical‑device environment is a plus.
