About the role

Law360, a LexisNexis company, is seeking a senior reporter to cover the legal industry in California, focusing on the rapid adoption of legal technology and artificial intelligence. The role can be based in either San Francisco or Los Angeles and involves breaking news, spotting emerging trends, and delivering in‑depth analysis of how technology reshapes law practice.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report on developments in legal tech, generative AI, and related regulatory changes across law firms, courts and government agencies.
• Produce quick‑turn news stories on major industry events and investigative feature pieces that provide context and insight.
• Build and maintain a network of sources including law‑firm leaders, startup founders, investors, consultants, academics and regulators.
• Generate exclusive scoops and maintain high news judgment in a competitive environment.

Required profile

• Experienced journalist with a strong track record in legal, technology or business reporting.
• Curiosity about AI tools, their adoption and impact on the legal profession.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and produce high‑quality, well‑researched content.
