Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

J&J Snack Foods Corp. is seeking an experienced audit professional to join its Internal Audit team in La Vergne, TN. Reporting to the Manager of Internal Audit, the Senior Internal Auditor will help safeguard the company’s operations through risk‑based audits and compliance testing.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the annual risk assessment and assist in preparing the audit plan.
• Scope individual audits, conduct research on accounting, compliance, manufacturing, and IT security topics.
• Execute all audit phases, from planning and fieldwork to drafting observations and recommendations.
• Follow up on management action plans and assess evidence for observation closure.
• Perform detailed SOX testing and advise on strengthening the control environment.
• Maintain relationships with management to stay informed of business changes.
• Seek training and explore tools, including AI, to improve audit efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management Information Systems.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in public accounting or internal audit, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Professional certification: CPA, CIA, or CISA.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Understanding of SOX requirements.
• Familiarity with IIA Professional Standards.
