Senior Clinical Therapist – Behavioral Health Outpatient

About the role

The Senior Clinical Therapist provides outpatient behavioral health services within the Behavioral Health Service Line at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This position focuses on delivering high‑quality psychotherapy and psychiatric support to adult patients in a collaborative, academic medical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence‑based psychotherapy (e.g., CBT, DBT) to outpatient clients.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and other clinicians to coordinate care.
• Document clinical encounters accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
• Supervise and mentor graduate assistants and student clinicians.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Clinical Therapist (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent).
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in a mental health field.
• Extensive experience in outpatient behavioral health and psychiatry settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
