Resident Advocate – Full-Time Shelter Position

About the role

The Resident Advocate provides safety, security, and supportive services to clients residing at the DOVE House shelter in St. George, UT. This full‑time position involves direct client interaction, crisis hotline coverage, and coordination of victim advocacy services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain security, safety, and general upkeep of the shelter environment.
• Provide shelter coverage on one to two overnight shifts each week.
• Answer all helpline and dispatch phone calls and operate the 24‑hour crisis hotline.
• Assist with client intake, exit processes, and support client action‑plan goals.
• Document activities, notes, and advocacy logs in the shelter’s database.

Required profile

• Clear criminal background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience working with the public.
• Strong communication and phone skills; bilingual ability is a plus.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a positive, collaborative attitude.
