Registered Nurse – Medical Neurology ICU (E4)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Medical Neurology Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The RN will provide direct patient care to critically‑ill neurology patients, ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing practice in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical Neurology ICU, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and operate specialized ICU equipment.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record and communicate changes in condition promptly.
• Participate in patient and family education, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current active RN license in the state of Arkansas.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a high‑acuity ICU setting, preferably with neurology patients.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ICU monitoring equipment and electronic health record systems.
• Knowledge of neuro‑critical care protocols and interventions.
