Registered Nurse – Lactation Specialist

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in lactation to provide expert breastfeeding support to patients and families. This clinical staff position is a regular, full‑time role within the ICE | WISL Nursery Lactation department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized lactation counseling and education to new mothers and families.
• Assess and address breastfeeding challenges, offering evidence‑based interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate lactation care into overall patient plans.
• Document assessments, care plans, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
• Participate in staff training and community outreach programs related to breastfeeding.

Required profile

• Current RN license in Arkansas with legal authority to work in the United States.
• Experience in maternal‑child health or lactation support preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to educate diverse populations.
