Project Engineer – Pavement

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer – Pavement to support field paving operations on the SR400 Express Lanes Project in Georgia. The role will coordinate engineering, material delivery, production tracking and quality assurance to ensure pavement is placed to required grades and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support field construction of subgrade, soil stabilization, aggregate base, asphalt paving, milling and pavement rehabilitation.
• Coordinate paving operations with superintendents, foremen, asphalt plants, trucking, subcontractors and quality teams.
• Review pavement plans, specifications and construction sequencing to plan widths, lift thicknesses and production targets.
• Track asphalt tonnage, aggregate quantities, truck cycles and installed pavement quantities.
• Verify roadway grades, cross‑slopes, elevations and pavement thickness before and during paving.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of field experience in infrastructure, roadway or bridge construction.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field offices and job sites.
• Familiarity with GDOT projects and knowledge of AASHTO/FHWA standards is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with construction software such as Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam and HCSS.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and traffic control plans.
