Program Manager, Planning - Community

About the role

Artheon is seeking a Program Manager, Planning to lead its community planning division in Albany, NY. The role provides technical leadership, supervises staff, manages multiple planning projects, and supports business development for public and private sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Review and ensure quality of reports and planning deliverables produced by professional and support staff.
• Supervise staff, assign workloads, and monitor adherence to project schedules.
• Manage a variety of planning projects such as comprehensive plans, zoning regulations, brownfield opportunity area plans, and waterfront revitalization studies.
• Represent Artheon at public, community, and professional meetings and marketing events.
• Assist the Director with proposal development, budgeting, and contract preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning or related field (Master’s and AICP preferred).
• Approximately 10 years of professional planning experience with staff management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of land‑use planning, zoning, and public engagement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
