About the role
ETAP is looking for a versatile Power System Engineer to join its Irvine team. The role blends technical power‑system studies, customer support, and contributions to the software development lifecycle, offering a hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform power‑system modeling, load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination, arc‑flash, harmonics, and transient stability studies using ETAP and similar tools.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide phone, email, and virtual technical support, troubleshooting complex engineering and software issues.
- Deliver ETAP workshops, webinars, and training sessions for clients and internal teams.
- Support software development through testing, validation, and feedback on protective device models and simulation scenarios.
- Collaborate with R&D, QA, product, and customer‑success teams to improve usability and performance.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in power‑system engineering.
- Proven ability to conduct comprehensive power‑system studies and interpret results.
- Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to work cross‑functionally.
