About the role
The Polypropylene Plant Operator works on Braskem’s production equipment to generate polypropylene while following strict safety and operational standards. This full‑time, onsite role supports continuous plant performance and product quality.
Key responsibilities
- Follow operating discipline, procedures, and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Operate basic control systems to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates.
- Take process readings and adjust controls to correct deviations from set standards.
- Control, monitor, and adjust both automated and manually operated equipment.
- Identify equipment needing maintenance, clear and tag it, and issue Safe Work Permits.
- Troubleshoot process, product quality, safety, and environmental issues.
- Execute product transfers and transitions according to the Operating Schedule.
- Coordinate activities with extruder operators and product loading area operators.
- Assist other technicians with task prioritization and complete required paperwork accurately.
Required profile
- Minimum six months experience in a chemical plant environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid United States driver’s license.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including frequent walking and manual handling.
Required skills
- Basic control systems operation.
- Process monitoring (levels, temperature, pressure, flow).
- Troubleshooting of process and equipment issues.
- Equipment maintenance and Safe Work Permit handling.
