Planetarium Program Manager

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a dedicated Program Manager to lead the Shellam Flake Planetarium. This role oversees the development and delivery of educational programs, public outreach, and daily operations, supporting the university’s STEM outreach mission.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and manage planetarium shows and educational activities for K‑12, university students, and the public.
• Collaborate with faculty, schools, community groups, and external partners to expand program impact.
• Handle visitor engagement, ticketing, and day‑to‑day operational support.
• Maintain equipment, schedule maintenance, and ensure a safe, high‑quality visitor experience.
• Track program metrics, prepare reports, and assist with grant or funding initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in educational program management, museum or planetarium operations, or related STEM outreach.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Commitment to advancing STEM education and community engagement.
