Physician Advisor – Venture Capital (Digital Health)

About the role

Healthcare Shares is looking for practicing or former physicians to join its venture capital fund as part‑time advisors. You will provide clinical insight to shape investment decisions and support portfolio companies in the digital health space.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical diligence: evaluate startups for safety, efficacy, workflow integration and real‑world applicability.
• Investment evaluation: assess opportunities in AI, telemedicine, remote patient monitoring and digital therapeutics.
• Portfolio guidance: advise founders on clinical workflows, provider adoption, reimbursement pathways and regulatory considerations.
• Market insight: identify emerging trends in healthcare delivery and technology adoption.
• Network access: introduce relevant clinicians, health systems and strategic partners.
• Thought partnership: provide perspective on how innovations will impact physicians, patients and care models.

Required profile

• MD or DO with recent or active clinical experience.
• Strong understanding of healthcare delivery, reimbursement and regulatory landscape.
• Interest in digital health, innovation and venture capital.
• Experience with startups, health‑tech or advisory roles is a plus.
• Ability to deliver high‑level insight with a limited time commitment.
