Payroll Specialist

About the role

The Payroll Specialist will manage and maintain the organization’s payroll functions, processing regular and non‑regular payroll, administering time‑and‑attendance policies, and collaborating with all departments to ensure compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly and semi‑monthly payrolls using the UKG system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation in line with regulations and company policies.
• Review and resolve timecard exceptions, including missing punches and incorrect entries.
• Reconcile medical and fringe benefit deductions and coordinate with the Benefits team.
• Respond to payroll inquiries from employees, managers, and external agencies.
• Support year‑end processes, audits, and other payroll‑related projects.
• Partner with Accounting on payroll reconciliations, accruals, and general‑ledger impacts.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of payroll or related experience.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information and interact professionally at all levels.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and flexibility to shift priorities.

Required skills

• Experience with UKG or a similar HRIS platform.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF, MATCH, etc.).
