Patient Services Associate – BHSL Adult Inpatient Unit

About the role

The Patient Services Associate works on the BHSL Adult Inpatient Unit at UAMS, providing front‑line support to patients and families during the night shift. This clinical staff position ensures smooth patient flow, assists with admissions and discharges, and coordinates with nursing and ancillary teams to deliver high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients and families, answer questions, and provide information about unit services.
• Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Maintain and update patient records in the hospital information system.
• Communicate patient needs and concerns to nursing staff, physicians, and support services.
• Assist with scheduling, transport coordination, and delivery of supplies.
• Monitor unit safety and infection‑control protocols during night hours.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare certifications preferred.
• Prior experience in a patient‑facing or clinical support role.
• Ability to work night shift and handle a fast‑paced environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
