Pastor of Community and Care

About the role

Central Presbyterian Church is seeking a relational and experienced pastor to lead community formation, biblical teaching, and pastoral care. The role works under the Executive Director/Pastor and supports the church’s missional outreach in New York City.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the Community Group strategy, recruit and train leaders, and guide multiplication of groups.
• Create and adapt weekly Community Group studies and provide leadership training.
• Design and implement Christian education programs, including courses on Bible, theology, and practical skills.
• Provide pastoral care, counseling oversight, officiate weddings and funerals, and mobilize members for practical assistance.
• Participate in preaching and worship‑leading as needed.

Required profile

• 7+ years of pastoral ministry experience in a local church.
• Commitment to Reformed theology as expressed in the Westminster Confession.
• Strong evangelistic heart, teaching ability, and leadership development skills.
• Professional demeanor, excellent communication, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
