Pasadena Site Director

About the role

BASF is seeking a seasoned leader to serve as the Site Director for its Pasadena, Texas petrochemical complex. You will be accountable for the safe, compliant, and profitable operation of a high‑hazard chemical manufacturing site, overseeing a budget, capital projects, and a team of roughly 60 employees.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the site’s license to operate by ensuring full compliance with environmental permits, regulatory requirements, and Responsible Care standards.
• Drive a strong EHS culture, focusing on flare reliability, emergency response readiness, and incident prevention.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing leadership team and broader workforce, fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
• Establish governance systems, KPI ownership, and transparent performance reporting across all functions.
• Represent BASF externally, managing relationships with regulators, community stakeholders, and infrastructure partners.
• Oversee process safety and compliance programs, including RC audits, PSM/RMP, regulatory reporting, and permit renewals.
• Manage site operating costs, capital investments, and an annual CapEx portfolio to support reliability and competitiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience in chemical manufacturing or other high‑hazard industrial environments.
• Proven track record of accountability for safety, compliance, and financial performance.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
